Scales – measuring movement

Each value represents average movement on the scale from any non-valuable option to any valuable option; for example, in response to the question below, the value could be applied both in movement from 5 to 1, or 3 to 2. In general, most of the movement on these types of scales will be clustered around the middle.

This was a simplifying method made for ease of application, but also reflects the extent to which the datasets used to generate the values demonstrate ‘break points’ at which significant social value can be observed as a result of some types of interventions.
